TCP evaluation: Round Table Discussion was held at Caltech and sponsored by WAN-in-Lab on Nov 8-9, 2007.
Researchers from groups around the world, discussed benchmarking parameters for TCP protocols.
Ao (Kevin) Tang is awarded the 2007 Charles Wiltz Doctoral Prize for "outstanding independant research" leading to a PhD in Electrical Engineering at Caltech.

High Energy Physicists Set New Record for Network Data Transfer

Prof. Harvey Newman and Prof. Steven Low of Caltech and other collaborators continue to set records on fast large long distance data transfers, using FAST TCP.
Prof. Steven Low and FAST TCP were mentioned in Discover magazine article based on an interview with fellow Caltech collaborator Prof. John Doyle.
FastSoft Inc., launched its product FastSoft Aria, whose technology was inspired by Netlab research.

Authors at Caltech and Netlab receive the best paper award at MASS conference Oct 2007.
PFLDnet2007 workshop at ISI (USC) in Marina Del Rey, CA was co-chaired by Lachlan Andrew of Netlab in February 2007.

Ao (Kevin) Tang won the 2006 George Dantzig Award for best doctoral dessertation in operations research and management sciences. His thesis was titled "Heterogenous Congestion Control Protocol". This prestigous first prize from INFORMS was presented at the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, November 2006.
Lijun Chen taught the course CDS270 Optimization, Game and Layering in Communications Networks in Fall 2006.

FastSoft Inc., formed in 2005 - a new technology start-up inspired by FAST TCP research at Netlab.

Over summer, Lun Li worked at Microsoft, Redmond, WA and Cheng Hu worked at JPL.
Netlab website is renovated and WiL website updated in 2006.
The 2002 Netlab website was initially published by Dawn Choe.
WiL website initially launched in 2005 by Eddie Tsai.
Netlab's first PhD students graduated in 2006.

Outlines the building of WAN-in-Lab (WiL), a Netlab project, to further FAST TCP experimental research. The WiL concept was conceived by Professor Steven H Low, designed by ?....and Cisco in Sydney Australia. WiL hardware was initially assembled by George S Lee and colleagues.
